Blowouts

Upon entering every styling encounter as far as blowouts go, everyone should own a paddle brush and a round metal vent brush. Most people don't realize that when they use at paddle brush, it's the one technique that will make or break your styling.

Every time you blowout your hair using this technique, you will ensure a quick, yet sleek blowout.  When using the paddle brush as your first styling technique, brush on the head pulling in all directions at just the root area around the entire head. The simple back and forth motion will help to achieve a few things such as removing moisture which reduces blow dry time, giving the hair movement by creating a shape to the root, straightening out roots by shaping them on the head, and giving the hair body by lifting the root in the opposite direction of which it lays. When using this simple paddle brush technique, it will give you the result of all of them with a quick few swipes on the scalp.

After using the paddle brush, the rest of your styling can be achieved by using a round vented metal brush.  (This brush is hollow, allowing for air to pass through). Depending on the look you would like to create, the use of this brush can vary.  If you would like to smoothe out the hair for a sleeker look, make sure your constantly rotating the brush to smoothe the cuticle while under heat.  If your going for a more bouncy look with little flips and curls, you can accomplish this look by taking a section, heating it up while smoothing it out, wrapping the hair on the brush from the bottom up, heating then cooling, then unwrapping the opposite way for a nice curl shaped like the brush.  The brush curls can vary in size depending on the brush size.

In any case the neatness and tools used will determine the execution of the blowout, but remember, the smaller the sections and the neater the partings, the better you blowout will come.
