Extensions

Before
After

The term "hair extension" refers to numerous techniques of enhancing ones natural hair by adding other hair to it.

This commercial hair can originate from many places all over the world and is collected specifically for this purpose. It comes in many lengths, colors and textures.

Sometimes synthetic hair is used depending on the technique and desired result. These hair additions can be temporary, such as clip-in pieces, falls, ponytails, etc. Or, they can be anchored to the client's natural hair in a semi-permanent fashion.

Methods for extending the hair vary and it seems there's a new one everyday! Many extension artists will master several techniques. This is to more adequately service the different and particular needs of their clients.

When choosing a suitable method, many factors should be taken into consideration. The "finished look" may be your biggest concern, but longevity, possible hair damage and ease of care are just as important.
Common methods are pole weaving, braid weaving, interlock, weft bonding, half braids, micro knotting, micro links and the hot glue techniques. Using hot melt adhesive is sometimes known as "fusion" or "bonding".

Haircut and Styles: Trends for a Fabulous Fall

Retro styles are doing it again. Old Hollywood Glam is showing up on the runways complimenting hair with fashion. This Includes teased tresses and 30's inspired waves.

Exaggerated parts or a fringe bang gives your old look a little something new;  while long locks or blunt bobs can overhaul your entire look. Extensions can hasten the waiting process of acquiring this look. And for fall short looks a pixied crop with long fringe pieces adds a little bit of rock to your do.

Natural easy looks are always a great look for the fall. To help achieve these looks flat ironing is an easy option while a much healthier alternative is having the Brazilian blow out or keratin process which helps styling these coifs in a cinch.
Alternately big teased hair is always an option if you a "bigger is better" kinda girl.
Adding the perfect hairstyle to  the warm colors of the fall will complete your look for Fall 2010.
